Passive Voice Fixer

The copy desk for active prose

About

The desk behind the desk.

Passive Voice Fixer is a single-purpose writing desk: paste text, see every passive construction marked up like a galley proof, get a rewrite starter for each catch. No account, no quota, no upload — the entire checker runs inside your browser tab.

Why it exists

Most passive-voice checkers live inside heavyweight writing suites: sign-up walls, cloud processing, subscription nags — all to answer one question a good copy editor answers with a pencil stroke. We wanted the pencil stroke. One page, instant markup, honest verdicts, and an explanation you can learn from, so that over time you need the tool less.

Three promises

  • Private. Your text never leaves your device. There's no server to send it to — the analysis is plain JavaScript running locally. The optional AI mode is strictly bring-your-own-key and sends sentences only to your provider account. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Honest. English is ambiguous, so the tool says so: hard marks for clear passives, dashed marks for “possible”, and a guide that explains when passive voice is the right choice. The German engine wears its Beta label openly.
  • Fast. No build-up, no onboarding. The sample text loads, the marks appear, you get it — inside ten seconds.

Who makes it

Passive Voice Fixer is built and edited by Thorsten Meyer in Iffeldorf, Bavaria, and is an independent tool in the StrongMocha studio family (registry N°018, code SM/PVF). Tooling and automation are powered by Thorsten Meyer AI.
